Emmanuel Children's Home

Emmanuel Children's Home was begun in 1961 by an American missionary who saw needy children on the streets of Juarez without shelter or food. A few years later a young pastor from the south of Mexico felt God's calling to join the ministry with the children. In 1963 Pastor Josue Lopez began his ministry at Emmanuel Children's Home. Through God's grace the government donated a large piece of land so that the small one room children's home could expand and continue ministering to the disadvantaged children of Juarez. As more children came, the men continued to build and, brick by brick, Emmanuel Children's Home became a refuge on the top of a hill.

Today Emmanuel Children's Home is the home for about 100 needy children on a yearly basis. The purpose of Emmanuel Children's Home is to provide a refuge for disadvantaged children. They are cared for in a home environment where they learn Biblical life principles. Our greatest desire is to provide our children with a sense of destiny in God. These principles teach them choices that can free them from the captivity of poverty and broken homes and give them the power to succeed. The results of more than 45 years of ministry are seen in the lives of many adults who were raised in this home and now have successful families and jobs and have a Godly influence in their communities.

You can get involved by sponsoring a child at Emmanuel Children's Home.

The cost of supporting one child at Emmanuel is approximately $120 per month. This covers food, lodging, hygiene products, clothing and medical and dental care. Ideally we would like to have 4 sponsors giving a suggested monthly donation of $30 per month. This would not only help to meet the financial needs of each child but would ensure that each child has 4 individuals or families who are actively involved in the child's life. This means they are remembered throughout the year, especially at Christmas and birthday time.

If you would like to sponsor a child at Emmanuel Children's Home simply fill out the sponsor reponse form found on our website and send it to us. We will choose a child for you based on your criteria. We will send you a photograph and story of your sponsored child. Your sponsorship starts with your first monthly contribution.

We rely on these funds as an important part of our budget. Your contributions are tax deductible and we will send you an annual summary of your yearly contributions. We do not send contribution reminders. Some people choose to send quarterly or yearly contributions. Please make your check payable to Emmanuel Ministries, our United States non-profit organization.
